Stylish but Practical: My Mom Uniform Staples

Let’s be honest — mornings in my house are chaos. Between school drop-offs, calls, brand meetings, and trying to remember if I’ve had coffee (or just thought about having it), I don’t have time to overthink an outfit. But I also don’t want to feel like I’ve completely given up. That’s where my “mom uniform” comes in.
It’s not about sacrificing style for comfort — it’s about creating a wardrobe that works with your life, not against it. Here are the staples I reach for over and over again. They’re effortless, elevated, and most importantly… they move with me.
1. The Perfect White Tee (or Five)
I own more white tees than I probably should, but when you find a cut and fabric that hits right? You stock up. I love a slightly boxy fit with a crisp shoulder line — it adds polish without trying too hard. My current go-to: The Row’s Wesler Tee when I want luxury, and RE/DONE Classic Tee for everyday rotation.
2. Oversized Blazer
Nothing elevates leggings and a tank faster. I’ll throw one on over a basic outfit and instantly feel pulled together. I like mine slightly oversized — think menswear-inspired but still tailored. Bonus: It has enough room for a hoodie underneath on chillier days.
3. High-Waisted Jeans That Actually Fit
A high waist is non-negotiable — I need structure and shape. I lean toward denim that has a touch of stretch, so I’m not counting the seconds until I can change. SLVRLAKE and Agolde are my go-tos. Pair them with sneakers or boots and you’re good.
4. Gold Hoops (Obviously)
Even on my messiest hair days, gold hoops save me. They’re the fastest way to say “I tried” without actually trying. You probably already know I don’t go anywhere without my JF hoops. Lightweight, classic, and instantly chic.
5. Luxe Sweat Sets
For days I’m working from home or running endless errands, a matching set feels like self-care. Les Tien, The Great, and Alo make some of my favorites. Top it with a trench or denim jacket, and you’re runway-ready… for Trader Joe’s.
6. Easy Sneakers That Go With Everything
I live in Golden Goose and New Balance. They’re comfy enough for all-day wear, and I don’t feel like I’m sacrificing style. Pro tip: Get a pair that looks better slightly worn — trust me, they’ll stay looking great longer.
7. A Crossbody Bag That Holds Everything
I need my hands free — period. Between phones, snacks, keys, and whatever my kids hand me mid-walk, a crossbody that’s both structured and stylish is essential. I love something that works from day to night — Celine Belt Bag Mini or Khaite's Agnes Crossbody are favorites right now.
Motherhood isn’t always glamorous, but getting dressed can be. I don’t believe in choosing between style and function. You can absolutely have both — and you deserve to feel like your best self, even when you’re just dropping someone off at soccer practice in the rain.
Let me know if you want me to share more of what’s currently on my style radar (or what's in my laundry pile, let's be real).
xx
